Radio

Till 1974, our family had no broadcasting Radio set in our possession. I had purchased after my income from service. That time we had to obtain licence and to renew the same. During childhood I used to listen important news from a shop near to our home.

In 1972 during mountaineering expedition to Indian Himalayas one set of 3 bands set was available for tuning special broadcasting for our expedition. It is a prearranged with the All India Radio (AIR). I had an experience to record a talk in Bengali language on Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, it was on30th September 1080. Then after I took part various discussion, talk, news review program all in Bengali from AIR Kolkata.

I had supported to the presenter of the program on water pollution of river Ganga, the river of India.

The coverage of AIR  is about 40% of rural West Bengal (southern part).

The Covid19 has increased the listener strength of AIR.

The other Indian AIR stations are accessible through on line and DTH, it is great experience to listen and communication can be made through telephone, internet.

The foreign radio station are tuned through SWs and also on line. I do listen

and  in Bengali, English languages program.

The acknowledging the reception report by the radio station is inspiring.
